Halo 2 on PC brings Microsoft's unified on-line gaming service, Games for Windows Live, to the table, where computer gamers can play against Xbox 360 owners.

The gameplay remains solid, and control scheme is spot on (I've always believed first-person shooters are best with a mouse and keyboard anyway), but the graphics are underwhelming and look, well, dated – even on my test rig's XFX Geforce 8600GTS graphics, especially given the computer's ability to handle higher resoutions. Halo 2 on PC is essentially the same game you'll find on the Xbox – with the addition of some "exclusive" content such as some multi-player maps and a map maker so you can design your own battlegrounds.
